About Us
We only have one planet. It’s a planet comprised of a delicately balanced ecosystem that took 4.5 billion years to be created. It’s a planet that in just a couple of hundred years humans may destroy. Home to anywhere to 5 million to 100 million species, this amazing planet could be on the brink of destruction if humans fail to change their basic approach to life.
We are not doomsday heratics or religious zealots who believe that the world is coming to an explosive end. We don’t believe in prophets or angels. Rather, we are two practical and ordinary people who believe in science and who recently took a look around us and hated what we saw. Consumption is destroying the very Earth we all depend on for survival. Pollution is rampant in almost every corner of the world. In the year 1600, there were a mere 5 million people on this planet. Today, there are over 6.6 billion. As our population increases exponentially, so does our consumption.

We do believe that our own technological innovations have the ability to change the course we are on and that’s why we created this Web site. We do believe that within the innovative power of humans rests the potential to make positive and lasting changes that will protect our planet and ensure that it is a safe environment for many generations to come for many species. We hope that you enjoy our site and share it with others. We hope that you share your own recommendations here as well. No one single person can change the direction of our planet or undo the damage that has already been done. However, if we all make small and significant changes in our own lives, we have the collective power to create immediate and lasting results.

The Gaia Hypothesis postulates that living and nonliving parts of the earth are part of a complex, interactive system that can be thought of a single organism. This hypothesis postulates that all living things have a regulatory effect on the Earth that results in the sustainability of all organisms, including humans.
